2022 Chateau Lary Lacombe Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc
The chateau is 50 kilometers southeast of Bordeaux and 10 kilometers from La Réole in the Entre-Deux-Mers region. In 1950, the property was bought by Angelo Forcato. Since the 1960s, his son Aron set out to expand their holdings, creating Chateau Lary. Skip forward to the early 1990s, when Sylvie and Serge Forcato continued to develop the estate. They bought Chateau Bourguet de Lacombe and merged it with Château Lary, renaming the property Chateau Lary Lacombe.
It’s a white Bordeaux blend of primarily Sauvignon Blanc (75%) with the rest of Muscadelle and Semillon. Its aromas are of perky gooseberry and citrus with a dusty mineral and herbal presence. On the palate, it’s light and bright, likely due to the inclusion of the latter two grape varietals. Charming and easy-going, it’s a great pairing partner for shellfish, sushi, poultry or a fresh spring salad.
